Six Months to One Year Before your wedding :

Bride
  • Choose your special people: Flower girl, maid/matron of honor, and your bridesmaids, choose the color they will wear for their dresses.

    Groom

  • Choose your special people: Best man, and ushers.

    Bride & Groom

  • Choose a date for your special day. You will need to know the style of the wedding and the number of people you choose to have.
  • Decide on a budget.
  • Begin looking for vendors (caterer, photographer, musicians) and make appointments.
  • Contact out-of-towners so they can start making travel plans.
    Reserve the location of the wedding and the reception.
    Start a guest list (don't forget addresses)
  • Announce your engagement. (Put your Engagement Announcement in our Engagement Album.)

    Four Months before the big day:

    Bride

  • All bridal attire and groomsmen attire should be in order.
  • Register for gifts
  • Select your Wedding Invitations

    Groom

  • Double check groomsmen attire is all set.

    Bride & Groom

  • Finalize the guest list
  • Make Honeymoon arrangements
  • Finish up requirements for the marriage license
  • Follow through on ceremony plans and make sure everything is all set.
  • You may want to start thinking about where the newly weds will be staying.

    Two months before your special day:

    Groom

  • Plans the rehearsal dinner

    Bride & Groom

  • Mail out your invitations
  • Finalize all plans, ceremony plans, photographer, videographer, baker, florist, DJ or the Band, your caters (make sure DJ has the idea of music you prefer) and make your arrangements for people out of town to stay at accommodations that you reserved.

    One Month Before:

    Bride

  • Final fitting for the bride and her attendants
  • Purchase gift for attendants and bridal party

    Groom

  • Buy a gift for your new bride.

    Bride & Groom

  • Get your marriage license
  • Be sure that your Transportation requirements are complete
  • Buy your gifts for your "Bridal Party"
  • Record all your gifts you receive be sure to include names and addresses

    Two Weeks Before:

    Bride

  • Set up a time for you to have a lunch with your brides maids

    Groom

  • Get hair cut
  • Coordinate a bachelors party with the best man

    One week before:

    Bride

  • Contact people who haven't R.S.V.P'd
  • Final count of people attending

    Bride & Groom

  • Confirm Honeymoon Plans
  • Make sure entire wedding parties attire is in order
  • Make sure you have the marriage license and rings
  • Attend rehearsal dinner and distribute wedding party gifts
  • To make life easier: a three ring binder is a great place to put all contracts of the people you are dealing with for your wedding
